Savoury French Toast
- ½ cup (125ml) chilled NESTLÉ Dessert & Cooking Cream
- ¼ cup (60 ml) firm cream cheese
- 1 tsp (5 ml) castor sugar
- Juice and zest of 1 lemon
- 3 large eggs
- ¼ cup (60 ml) NESTLÉ IDEAL EVAPORATED MILK
- 4 large slices of a French baguette
- Beat ½ cup (125ml) chilled NESTLÉ Dessert & Cooking Cream, ¼ cup (60 ml) firm cream cheese and 1 tsp (5 ml) castor sugar together.
- Fold the juice and zest of 1 lemon into the cream mixture and grind in some black pepper to taste.
- Whisk 3 large eggs and ¼ cup (60 ml) NESTLÉ IDEAL EVAPORATED MILK together.
- Cut 4 large slices of a French baguette and soak in the egg mixture for 1 min.
- Fry in a non-stick pan with a little olive oil until golden brown.
- Assemble by topping each slice of French toast with slivers of smoked salmon, a dollop of the cream cheese mixture and rocket.
